FRANK LEWIS EMANUEL  1865 - 1948

23 X 34. 5 cm.   (9 X 5 in.)
Painter and printmaker, born London. Studied art
at Slade School, where he won the first medal for
life drawing and at the Academie Julian in Paris.
First exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Paris
Salon in 1896. Travelled extensively in Europe, 
South Africa and Ceylon. Taught etching at 
Central School of Arts and Crafts 1918-30. 
Special artist for Manchester Guardian for many 
years. Exhibited at the Royal Academy (38) and
elsewhere.
